The night started off great, we set up shop on the hill overlooking the stadium and the Jubilee Village. Turned on a Portable TV then started doing some exposure tests. Then in the middle of a performance some fireworks shot off.
All we could think was WTF... seriously what kinda half ass firework display was that. A couple in a parking lot below us exclaimed "thats all folks...bumbo claat!!". Clearly they were as dissapointed as we were. Determined that the meager display was not the glorious display we were promised we hunkered down to await the actual end of the ceremony. The couple hastily drove off.
As the ceremony ended and the credits started rolling on the small 7" LCD display infront of us we heard in the distance the Master of ceremonies instruct the performers on the field to sit and some other thing that was hastily mumbled. At 10:33 pm the distinct thud of a projectile launching echoed across the hill. The next 15 minutes was magical. Though my friend's poor daughter - who he took out just to see the fireworks - was clearly traumatised.
